Alder Creek

Alder Creek is a small community located in Plumas County, California, in the United States. The area was originally inhabited by the Maidu Native American tribe, who used the surrounding forests and streams for hunting and fishing.

In the mid-1800s, gold was discovered in the nearby Feather River, and a number of mining camps were established in the area. Alder Creek became a center of activity for mining operations and lumber mills, which harvested the surrounding forests for timber to support the burgeoning population.

In the early 1900s, the timber industry began to decline, and the population of Alder Creek began to dwindle. Today, the area is primarily used for recreation, with hiking, fishing, and camping being popular activities in the nearby forests and streams.

One of the most notable events in the history of Alder Creek occurred in 1846, when a group of pioneers known as the Donner Party became trapped in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains during a harsh winter.
